- Bachelor Degree of Science in Biology from The University of Virginia in 1998
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from The University of Illinois in 2003
Dr. Lori Potts graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She then moved to North Carolina to work at a rural mixed animal practice. After caring for all creatures great and small for four years she focused her interests on dogs and cats at a small animal practice for the next six years. Dr. Potts joined our practice in 2013 after she relocated to the area to be closer to family and friends in Illinois.
Dr. Potts’ diversity of experiences compliments her passion for helping people and their special friends in all areas of veterinary medicine. When not at work she enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. Dr. Potts and her husband Joe have two children, Lily and John. They have one dog, Alle, who they adopted from a shelter in North Carolina on a visit back to the mountains. Alle is a mix of countless breeds and is a super sweet girl who loves to play with the kids. The family also has one black cat named Miah, she likes to think she is most important and scares the dog regularly.
